The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a fantastic option if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
In tests, it was able to tackle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to map out your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It is a powerful cleaner and a variety of features, including an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is setup it can begin automatic cleaning with a single button click. You can choose a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger pieces of debris like cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as other models do and can clean up pet hair with ease. It's not able to work with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard however we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features an advanced filtration system that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your whole home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on more expensive models. And its mopping system is even better - its spinning pads clean your floors more effectively than the vibrating pads.
The only downside is that it doesn't have a second rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but that's an acceptable cost to pay if want one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors. Filling it takes just two or three cycles even when you've got a lot of dirt.
In terms of the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch television without interruption. If it encounters an object, such as a wall or furniture piece it gently bumps into it and moves forward.
The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app is good at alerting you when something is in need of attention, such as the clean water tank running low or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also design and merge actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is helpful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly remove clutter, such as toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking dirt from carpets and hardwoods in robot vacuum and mop its first run. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it to.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could need. It comes with an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty mop pads, keeping them free of germs and ready to use again. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet high and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris which makes it easier to empty it when needed.
Finally lastly, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app as well as voice assistant that operates offline, so you can use it even if you're away from home. It also comes with more mopping modes and a smart routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead just following a specific route.
The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping robot. Its mop pads rotating clean tough stains and its motor produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding too and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It also has a huge battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots of this price. It is able to build detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types and is among the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. While these features are nice to have but they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury and could mean it's a little more expensive than what some homeowners require.
It is designed to look like a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish highlighted by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine features a large bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, while clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The circular menu located in the middle of the control panel lets users to select cleaning options, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open up the app's settings menu where you can alter how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your home. This helps the robot clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. The mops are also efficient, removing 98.4 percent of debris from our wood, tile, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the hard floor and Quaker oats on carpet.
